Day 01

Cusco – Manu Paradise lodge

Early at 7:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin our journey through the Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, and Quechua communities with an ancient, millennia-old population. Ninamarca is a pre-Inca archaeological center (chullpas or funerary tombs) that belong to the LUPACA culture.

Mid-morning, we’ll enjoy coffee and fresh fruit juices from the region in Paucartambo, a folkloric colonial town. Afterward, we’ll continue in our private vehicle toward Acjanaco, the entrance to Manu National Park. From there, we’ll descend into the lush cloud forest, home to a great variety of flora and fauna. It’s an ideal place for epiphytes, orchids, bromeliads, giant ferns, and dozens of hummingbird species. Here, we’ll explore the cloud forest and have the opportunity to observe Peru’s national bird, the colorful Andean Cock-of-the-rock, in its ritual mating dance, as well as toucans, trogons, quetzals, monkeys, and, with luck, the Andean spectacled bear (Tremantus ornatus). An extraordinary place for photography and birdwatching.

At 4:30 pm, we’ll arrive at Manu Paradise Lodge, at the confluence of the Kcosñipata and San Pedro rivers. We spend our night in comfortable rooms and have free time to enjoy some cold drinks and dinner.

Day 02

Manu Paraiso lodge - EcoManu lodge

Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the lush Amazon rainforest, and enjoy a healthy breakfast with delicious organic coffee, seasonal fruits and artisanal breads.

This morning, we explore the San Pedro area in search of tanagers, motmots, flycatchers, and small toucans. Then, we board our private vehicle to head to the Kcosñipata Valley and visit Pico de Oz Hummingbird Garden. Thanks to the great diversity of native flowering plants and feeding areas, dozens of hummingbird species and other birds are attracted, including hummingbirds, guans, tanagers, honeycreepers, dachnis, king bultures, and more. Surrounded by an exotic environment and magical winged creatures, we will enjoy a magical lunch in the heart of the garden.

In the mid-afternoon, we continued our excursion to the port of Atalaya, where our motorboat awaited us to take us to EcoManu Lodge. EcoManu is nestled in a lush Amazonian landscape, surrounded by palm trees and a natural garden, offering harmony and tranquility for guests to enjoy.

Overnight stay and dinner at the comfortable EcoManu Lodge.

Optional activity: Night walks are organized by our guides with excellent headlamps to help you spot beautiful nocturnal creatures, frogs, armadillos, tarantulas, small caimans, and snakes in the wetlands and along the riverbanks.

Day 03

EcoManu Lodge – Manu Safari Blanquillo Lodge

Early in the morning, we’ll enjoy a healthy breakfast in Amazonian Garden, surrounded by birds and hundreds of butterflies. Enjoy a buffet with delicious organic coffee, and seasonal fruit.

Continuing our nature excursion, today we board our boat to navigate the Madre de Dios River deep into the Manu rainforest, heading towards Boca Manu and the Tambo Blanquillo. Along the way we will make interesting stops to observe families of capybaras, red howler monkeys, herons, cormorants, ospreys, caimans and hundreds of turtles sunbathing on fallen trees on the riverbanks. With a good luck an impressive jaguar.

There are few intact and remote rainforests left in the world that are home of isolated tribes from the outside world. Manu is one of these privileged Amazon rainforests, where nomadic tribes live by gathering and hunting. One such tribe is the Mashco Piro, who can currently be seen along the banks of the Madre de Dios River, searching for turtle eggs, bananas, and other products.

Upon arriving at Tambo Blanquillo, we will immerse ourselves in the rich biodiversity of the Amazonian lowland rainforest. As we settle into this pristine natural space, we will enjoy the sights and sounds of howler monkeys, groups of macaws, and toucans.

Overnight stay and dinner at the comfortable facilities of Tambo Blanquillo.

Day 04

Tambo Blanquillo Lodge – Puerto Maldonado

Early in the morning, we woke up surrounded by the lushness of the Amazon rainforest. Before starting our day, we enjoyed a delicious organic coffee and fresh seasonal fruit juices. This morning, we headed to the Blanquillo clay lick. The Blanquillo clay lick is a natural wonder that attracts visitors from all over the world to admire hundreds of parrots, parakeets, large red macaws, and other bird species that perch on the clay wall to ingest the rich concentration of minerals. There, on a platform overlooking the clay wall, we enjoyed our buffet breakfast.

After this fantastic natural spectacle, we boarded our well-equipped boat to continue our journey to the town of Colorado. At this local port, our private vehicle awaited us to transport us by land for about an hour to the next port, known as Puerto Carlos, and from there directly to the city of Puerto Maldonado. Overnight at Kapievi Eco Village. Buffet dinner with cold drinks and cocktails to toast our last night in the Amazon.

Massage service at the hotel upon request.

Day 05
