ITINERARY
Day 01

Cusco – EcoManu lodge.

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, to start our journey through Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, rural folkloric communities such as Paucartambo and Ninamarca (chullpas or funerary tombs) that belong to the pre-Inca LUPACAS culture. Then we climb the last mountain to reach Acjanaco, entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK, where we descend to the lush cloud forest, which houses a variety of flora and fauna. Being an ideal place for epiphytes, orchids, bromeliads, etc.. It is there where we will explore the cloud forest and can appreciate the National bird of Peru, the colorful Cock of the Rock in its ritual mating dance, as well as toucans, trogons, quetzals, monkeys and hopefully the South American spectacled bear (Tremantus ornatos). Continuing our excursion of the day we head to the Patria valley, Pilcopata small villages of Manu.

In the mid afternoon we will visit the hummingbird sanctuary, where we will observe dozens of species of bright creatures, the hummingbirds, multicolored birds that are attracted by the fruits, at the feeders and on the roads we will observe groups of monkeys and sloths.

At the end of the day we head to the tourist port of Atalaya, where our motorized boat awaits us to cross the Madre de Dios River towards the EcoManu lodge. Overnight in our comfortable rooms, dinner and free time to enjoy some cold drinks.

Day 02

EcoManu Lodge – Santa Cruz – Palotoa Teparo.

In the morning wake up under the song of the birds and the exuberant Amazon jungle, it is time to enjoy our healthy breakfast to explore the lush Amazon forest through the different paths and appreciate the giant rubber trees, tonillos, ficus, which are home to groups of capuchin monkeys, From our exclusive observation tower in the middle of giant trees, we will observe and photograph families of macaws, toucans, cotingas, trogons, flycatchers and beautiful tanagers, an excellent place for photographers and birdwatchers.

Return to the lodge to prepare our luggage and continue our excursion in the direction of the Santa Cruz checkpoint of the Manu National Park, where we will show the permit acquired for the entrance to the historical and cultural zone of the park. Then, we head to the port to meet with families of the Matsigencas who will take us in small boats to their community of Palotoa Teparo.

The guide will explain the theme of the visit to one of our most original ethnic groups that still maintains its tradition and lifestyle of the Matsigenkas. Afternoon visit to the village.

Day 03

Palotoa Teparo - Pusharo Petroglyphs.

Very early breakfast to start our expedition of the day aboard our small boat, hiking for 4 hours approx. through trails and beaches along the Palotoa River, appreciating a variety of birds and families of monkeys; once arrived at the pongo of Meganto, it is time to explore and locate the main panel and the others that are in different parts of the place.

Recordings that astonish locals and strangers with expressions and figures in low relief finely carved that left a message of the richness and spiritual connection with our natural world.

In the main panel, the main god of the INCAS, the sun in its three wonderful moments of the day, as a sign of respect, the rising sun, the shining sun and the setting sun.

On the far right is the profile of the face of the ruler of the Inca empire, undoubtedly the immense engravings shown on the panel. It is a challenge to decipher. For the Amazonian cultures, PUSHARO is a temple or a lost city that today is a rock that speaks and reveals the secrets of ancient civilizations.

Day 04

Palotoa Teparo - Village Salvación - Cusco

After a good Amazonian breakfast and a good natural coffee, it is time to pack our luggage to board our boat and return by the same river Palotoa and Madre de Dios to the port of Santa Cruz and from there slowly return to the city of Cusco in our private vehicle with some stops and short walks along the way. Arrival time in Cusco at 18:00 pm.

Night walks or activities are possible every night, which will be at the disposal of the organization of our guides.
